Mumbai: Procter and Gamble India (P&G India) has named Al Rajwani, a company veteran, as the successor to Shantanu Khosla, the managing director of the company who is stepping down from 30 June.

Rajwani will take charge as managing director and chief executive officer from 1 July. He has worked across the US ,Canada, China, Korea and, most recently, the Arabian Peninsula and Pakistan (AP&P).

Under his leadership, the AP&P business grew in double digits in the last decade and paved the way for P&G to be one of the leading consumer packaged goods companies in the Middle East.

Cincinnati-headquartered Procter and Gamble Co. has in India one wholly-owned company, Procter and Gamble Home Products Ltd (PGHP), which sells detergents (Ariel and Tide) and shampoos (Head & Shoulders and Pantene), and two listed companies, Gillette India Ltd, which sells razors like 3 Mach and Gillette, and Procter and Gamble Hygiene and Health Care Ltd (PGHH), which sells feminine hygiene products like Whisper. Khosla heads all three companies.
