Executive education and a sense of pride - On The Job

Executive education and a sense of pride

Mint's pull-out on executive education shows that good companies will invest in people even in bad times. Executives who participate in mid-career progarmmes not only brush-up old skills, they acquire new ones. And they acquire something else which came through in their interviews: a sense of pride that their employer is willing to invest in their career.

So cut down on his first-class travel, but send your CEO to that management programme abroad that you were planning to.

I agree that executive education is important and can help executives acquire new skills they can apply in the future. I read about an institute IIM who provides executive training. IIM has developed a new Action Learning Model, which “allows the leadership team to leverage the collective intelligence of the organization by allowing their managers to work together and learn from each other in collaborative action-learning sessions” stated by the president of IIM, Med Yones.
