I don't think we should be bothering. There is no way the IT Gaints can run in profits if not outsourced, that too after the costs in the service catalogs were cut down. Anyhow let's wait and see...

What do you think about journalists accepting rajyothsava and padma awards? I think they should not accept these Indian "political" awards as they compromise themselves. A well-known TV journalist was given a national award and thereafter there was the July tamasha in Parliament. I got lots of e-mails asking serious questions about this journalist. Such doubts persist and its rare that I turn on his news channel these days --- as I wonder if his news / comments are objective or politically motivated.

Right now, all those who specialise in watching the political atmosphere and mood in US feel that what you conclusively hope is like "Hoping against hope".BTW after crisis and panic,hope is the worst emotion to have in business.

kerala is slowly and steadily going ahead. The state's (people's) living standard is far better than that of the BIMARU states of north.

Sadly, tourism falls well short of catering to the state's populace. With over 800 people / sq km, it is the third most densely populated state in the country, after West Bengal and Bihar. It can also explain the over dependence of the state on outside employment. Oddly, this is a statistic that is rarely refernced while talking abt Kerala.

Looking at Kerala's floric and faunic diversity (If I can call it that!), the best industry for them is tourism and Ayurveda. I had recently been to Palakkad to an Ayurvedic SPA and the place and service is far beyond expectations. If this industry can take them places, why not? BTW Software is turning out to be one of their top and upcoming industries. Environmentally safe and non polluting!

Probably a bit unfair to generalize the Malayalee connection, since Indian space efforts started out from Thumba, near the state capital, and probably was able to attract a larger proportion of locals to the programme who could be in senior positions by now. Gulf is fast becoming an employer of the last resort these days, at least for the current generation, though nobody is staying back in Kerala. Only one of my classmates is currently in Gulf, two in Kerala (studying), while most are spread across four continents and it has hardly been ten years since I left school.

Absoutely agree.Its politiking at its worst. Is obvious that DMK seems more concerned about the interests about Tamil Nadu voters that Tamils in SL. Somebody should remind DMK forcefully that SL is a soverign nation and call and will take decisions to protects itslef and citizen and India cannot behave like a bully and expect to dictate terms to SL. DMK's protests coming at a time when SL Army says its close to victort against LTTE does no good to the credibility of DMK or its leaders. India's stand must not get dictated by the compulsions of local politics.

the observation is quite good and correct. What is more interesting are comments that is emerging from Indian IT cos - it appears to be more cautious and deflating (if i can say) sometimes, as this will have a bearing on the markets. M&A with small-mid deals is the way forward, especially focusing on emerging markets.
