Prince dance group wins India's Got Talent

So after a finale episode that lasted more than 3 hours, Prince dance group from Orissa were finally declared winners of the first edition of India's Got Talent. The all male group of bodypainted dancers is comprised mainly of daily wage labourers and I for one couldn't stop cheering! They've been the most innovative group since day one. And I guess viewers who voted felt, like me, that to be a winner on this show you need more than a good voice or the ability to dance.

The finale episode dragged on and on as the channel took the opportunity to promote all their new shows coming up. Rani Mukherji (who kept adjusting her clothes everytime she thought the camera was not on her) and Shahid Kapur (looking distinctly out of it) also made a desultory appearance to promote their forthcoming film Dil Bole Hadippa.

My other favourites last night were Sneha and Richard, the dancers from Bangalore who usually spend their time spreading salsa fever in small Indian towns across the country. The hip hop dancers from Nallasopara were also brilliant. As were both the mallakhamb acts.

The three judges did a great job through this show. The emotional Shekhar Kapur has been everyone's favourite include, as we found out yesterday, Khatron Ke Khiladi contestant Rupa Ganguly, Did you see the sparks fly between them when she came on stage? I wonder what happened after the show ended...

It is heartening to hear the splendid sucess of price group of berhampur/orissa. From the sucess it is crystal clear that real talent of India lies in the steet/villages of india. I sincerely have no words to describe the outstanding performance of the Prince group since their 1st performance. Their cretivity made new benchmark and are un-beatable. I too voted almost 6 times to make sure that they should win. Hats off again to their Krishna / Independence day and Dashavtaar performance.

Prince dance group...it was our pleasure to see this group performing really really in a group , having around 26 members and to put sync at right place was a thing to see.They had really worked hard , a small mistake by any of the member could have put the show out of proportion..but the show was on and on from the very first performance.I had spent around three years at khodasingh,place close to Ambapua..sometimes that had made me emotional too apart from your act. I really salute you all the 26 members, it was your group's performance which had bought the galore...It was really a life time achivement to see their performances.This was the only show which had provided the winner to a deserving one...I think so, thinking everybody might be thinking so....

Prince group... you guys rocked!!! Wow what a performance. It was a treat to watch you all. Also Rohan and Group were cool. A great show with great judges, real people with real emotions and fair judgement.. Also for once felt that India voted for the most deserving of the whole talented lot. Orissa is very well known for natural resources.And now the "Prince Dance Group" has proved that we have talent resources.The way the group performed, it's hard to believe that those guys are just simple person and not professional. i never use to watch those kind of shows on TV. I got a chance to see the final and i just could not stop tears from my eyes. In 25 mins i tried to send as many as SMS possible and when i tried to request others for voting, I got the answer that are already voting for them from Day 1 of their shows. Thanks to all people from different part of India and world for voting for them. Anyways the other performers were also very talented and they should n't get dissappoined, just cheers and keep performing well. with love, DPM

The India's Got Talent Grand Finale episode was really entertaining and showcased some of the best talents from our country. I completely agree with the writer as far as dragging the episode is concerned. Even Shahid and Rani seemed uninterested in the whole thing. In fact, when Nikhil and Ayushmann thanked Rani and Shahid for their presence, both the celebrities were engrossed in conversation. Quite surprising that was!

Hai everybody, The sunday night on dated 23rd Aug '2009 was a wonderful and to be a memorable day in my life which gave me and my family an immense pleasure.I just cant stop my self from jumping and clapping with my family members.It gave a tear roll watching of the beautiful saga of dance performed by Prince Dance Group from my city Berhampur where I have spent my half of life.I am overwhilmed and I dont have any words to spell.But I can say I am a proud odiya boy and a proud Indian ultimately. PRINCE dance group of Silk City Berhampur truely made every Oriya and infact every Indian proud. The slum boys from Berhampur enthralled the entire country with their breathtaking performnace. Long before the films Lagaan and Slum Dog Millionaire went on to the world stage to win accolades for India, some labourers and their children had formed this dance group at Berhampur. None had expected this group with two polio stricken participants and daily wage earners would enthrall audiences throughout the country by overcoming poverty, professional talent and physical challenge.

hi, it's a matter of great pleasere not only for me, but also for all the people of orissa as well as india, for the show performed by prince dance group at colours programm. my heartly thanks to colours, who blossomed the in-herrent talents of the daily wage boys who had never dremnt for the foreigh tour.They are not the ordinary, but the extra-ordinary. my great congradge to all of them who has given there participation, even a negligable part, because me bleming god for not being one of them. Its heartening to see that finally India is recognising talent from Orissa. Orissa was a great state long long years back and now, finally its eventually getting the recognition it desereved (and oh so rightly!!). For years Oriyas were confused with Bengali people and some Indians never knew anything about Orissa either. When u talk to any people about Eastern India, the only image they conjure up is that of a Bengali or North East Indian. Orissa never figured on the radar of Business people, Bollywood film makers or even our Parliamentarians. Talk about Orissa and you are dismissed even before u utter a word about Orissa. I finally see light at the end of the tunnel. This is just the beginning. Orissa will attain much greater heights than this and Oriyas will attain much recognition and glory than any Oriya has ever imagined.
