Destiny is in the Hands of the People, not the Politicians! - Dhanya Parameshwaran

We can blame the Police, the RAW, the politicians for the events of the last week but what our nation needs is accountability at the grass-root level – every citizen should be responsible for his/her actions. And how do we achieve that – lets borrow ideas from the developed West. Every Indian citizen should have a social security number – through which all information including family details, place of work, passport number, licence number, economic status, income tax, whereabouts and mishaps are stored. This is a huge task for a country of our size – but we do manage to conduct Census survey once in ten years, so its not impossible.

People entering our country and refugees can be tracked then. Prioritise security to people in every state – citizens in Kashmir, Orrisa, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam. State run police should be trained with skills to fire at the enemy, crisis management and should always be on their toes. Corruption in Police, Army and other key public services should be severed down.

Once the people feel safe – I will prioritise mass education.

Safety from Communal Violence is also necessary in a 'secular' country like ours. Like Shashi Tharoor quotes, Secular India means peaceful coexistance of all religion. Religion is a part of our culture, lets not fight over it.
