I'm so fascinated by all of this -- no one has ever become so famous so fast - it is a surprise to us all. I have been noticing the good and bad press - and have decided for myself that it all the writer's projection - that is to say, what is written has almost nothing to do with Susan and everything to do with the state of mind of the writer. I am so looking forward to her first album. I hope they take their time with it and do it right. Also, very curious how they will go about selecting what songs she will sing. Gracie

I love Susan Boyle and I am sick of the naysayers and criticizers. I think you naysayers and criticizers are just jealous. I can hardly wait to buy a CD by Susan Boyle. I probably wouldn't want to buy a thing from you naysayers and criticizers. The world has too many people like you in it already.

No-lie has been making a tour of the internet disparaging Susan.. No-lie has a learning disability daughter who has no issues. The first time I saw Susan, God put her heavy on my heart to pray for her, no kidding. She appeared to be a sweet kid and needed help; ever seen answered prater? It's powerful and she will get the help she needs! Do you pray? Join in!

no lie, you do indeed have a very good point. However, today schools have a better knowledge and understanding of learning disabilities, and are prepared to help the students. That wasn't always the case. Your daughter is very lucky indeed, I'm happy that she's been able to overcome her learning disability and lead a successful life. However, Susan was probably never lucky enough to get the care needed to deal with her disability. It was probably just ignored by her family, feeling there was nothing that could be done to help.

My daughter has a learning disability. She has been taking social skills classes since she was a child. She was teased in school for being different. Today as an adult she is able to make presentations in front of large groups of people without fear but most of all, she has an understanding of her disability and does not have the anger inside of her like Susan has. Susan dosnt have the social skills that prevents her from lashing out at others. Its a cruel world and if Susan thinks she going to get sympathy wherever she goes because she has a simple learning disability then she's living in dream land. My daughter doesnt expect sympathy and whenever anyone mocks her, she laughs it off because she's been trained to understand why and accepts it.

The press does have the freedom to print as it wants and in the US its part of our constitution. Susan will have to find a way to deal with it or get out of the entertainment business. You have to remember that Susan did not win the competetion. The majority of voters did not vote for her. The only reason why Susan won at all is because BGT didnt have much talent on their show in the first place. As long as she keeps putting herself out there by flirting with the judges and using four letter words on people - the press is going to have a hay day with her. Thats why she needs a babysitter. She needs someone to teach her how to behave. If not - she will destroy herself. Radaronline which is owned by the National Enquirer - loves it when celebrities behave badly. Britney Spears and Paris Hilton was their biggest money makers when they were behaving badly for several years.

If the press was able to destroy Susan Boyle, who never did anything to anyone, it's very frightening. Colette, do some reading about what a learning disability really is, it would help to better understand Susan. It has nothing to do with intellience, but everything to do with the way they react to things like pressure and ridicule. She's lived with ridicule all of her life, and then to have the media do what they did was inexcusable. I hope she'll soon realize that the tabloids are written by scum, and read by scum. I hope and pray for the best for her, it's about time she has some happiness.

I agree with Phil about "journalism"...it sucks. But I do think Susan will need special protection if she enters the slimey waters of the entertainment industry. Performers and all who live in those waters are very clever and savvy people...that is not Susan by a long shot, it seems. I question the development of her judgment beyond an adolescent stage...because of her behavior...not just the temper...the hip wags, leg show, etc...not cool and she doesn't know it. But I don't agree that talent shows are responsible for people...Adults are responsible for themselvs and parents for minors. People ask to perform. Who could have imagined the result of Susan's audition? She is the victime of a world of emotional neediness all dumped at once on a person with perhaps less than ordinary reserves. I know she has hooked me; I love her voice and her persona (the real one which I shall grieve to see disappear). I truly pray for her.

The press does not have the right to print what they want - if they make stories up and attribute it to inside sources. We do not elect our press and we put the wellbeing of people into the hands of people that we don't know. I was in a reality TV programme in the UK and to be honest I think most members of te press are psychopaths from a very narrow social and DNA group. They are not representative of a cross section of society. They were mostly bitter, chip on the shoulder white middle class people in their mid 20s to late 30s. If a group of Chavs or BNP members had written stories about someone like Susan Boyle with such venom the press would have castigated them and called for their execution. The press do not represent me or anyone I know and while the industry remains as closed and elite as it appears to be. It is dangerous giving them such power without responsibility. To claim people in her street hated her ( Which they did) was an insult to the people and to her. The responsibility and purpose of the press is to report the news not to use their privileged position to dole out abuse to shift their magazines and then cite people crack under the pressure. It is a nonsense to cite people can write whatever they want to and pass it off as real truth because they work for a newspaper. Sorry only a utter buffoon would say so! Power without responsibility is psychopathic meglomania. Reported facts whether they are good or bad is not the same. Writing whatever you want to and attributing clear lies to inside sources, insiders and close friends is dictatorial. Hopefully the American press will not be as pernicious as the British Press who simply abuse the profession of journalism. Susan does not need a babsysitter she is used to rejection - she is not however used to so called decent adults ranting and raving in the name of media.

I've said that very same thing all along. Right after Susans first performance the judges told her she was a winner. They didn't offer any criticism whatsoever and her singing was not perfect. If they criticized her and told her she had the potential to win - she might not have lost control of herself. If she does decide to tour with the other BGT winners and make appearances in the US - she is going to need a babysitter. The press has the right to print what they want - good and bad. There are people who like her and people who don't.
