This one comment exposes the low awareness and intellectual bankruptcy of Sidin Vadakut. If only Sidin spent more time reading about tech issues and less time boot licking Congress leader's feet, he would have known better. But perhaps fanatic hatred for anything patriotic and Hindu drives this ignoramus's incoherent bambling. Google has been working on technology to bring transliteration for quite some time now. The driver is their need to expand internet advertising market which is currently constrained by English users. It is no coincidence that Internet users and English speakers overlap. As mobiles in Indian language interfaces increase ease of use and helped explode mobile usage, so is Google attempting for online interaction. The transliteration technology was already working on blogspot for some time. It was a matter of time before they brought it to email. Where does feeling pride in dirt and squalor of Slumdog come in picture. Maybe Sidin was born in a slum or loves living in a Slum (afterall, continued existence of slums after 60 years maintains the votebank of Congress) but for most of us, slums are a no no.

Gmail is at it for quite some time now. Slumdog has nothing to do with it. They will coming out with another half a doen Indian scripts. A real genuine effort I must say !
