India's answer to Roger Black, I consider Anoop as the only news designer in India who understands news design from a content standpoint, and balances newsroom realities with the desire for out-of-the-box innovation. He always works beyond cosmetic redesigns -- new fonts, colour palette, or nameplate--and revitalises and updates the newsroom culture that produces a fresh product every day. Revitalising newsroom culture is of utmost importance for a redesign to sustain, especially in Indian context.

have always liked MINT for its very refreshing lay-outs. and this front page was great !! getting a compliment from Shekhar (Bhatia) - who has been involved in designing some of the best papers ( The Telegraph, the new design of ToI post size-trimming and then also HT) says a lot. perhaps, someday - you would also share how the entire MINT design fisrt evolve - tho' much of the credit, i guess, should also go to anup - who has since moved on.
