Yesterday night at 9.54 pm, I got this email from Brian. Think I told everyone that Brian plans to visit Delhi next week and he's been trying to organise an Indian visa. I thought this was hilarious, so will leave you with this till I get back to Dubai. (He was nice enough not to call me up and complain, and instead sent me a hugely entertaining...

Obviously, I said. So I've been invited for a hilsa-and-mutton lunch this coming Friday (I believe there is a Sharjah fish market, that has such good...

Going on a Date

A considerably younger friend of mine went on a date this weekend (she was meeting the young man for the first time). It was a momentous event -- momentous because I'd have never done what she did on Date Eve: go shopping for new clothes and shoes. I tried very hard to remember how I would have ‘reacted' to going on a date when I was her age...
