I woulk like to tell you never stay near a grave yard because it gives out negative energy. I have my own personal experiences in this regard and I had to rely on religious books. I never go to sleep without prayers and i believe that keeps the evil forces away.

how I wish I could have afforded even a foothold in SRK Boulevard!!!! my visa thing has been sorted out: i was waiting for my residence visa, i had come here on a short-term one... have zeroed in on a studio apartment, but waiting for my bank account... here, nothing gets done till you have a bank account -- and a cheque book! rents here, by the way, are thrice of what you'd have paid in new york! i'm not joking... it's CRAZY...

I totally agree with you. It's very difficult to manage when u r living on ur own, away from ur family. It is more difficult when u have migrated to a new city. My father always tell me to b on ur own. He is some times very strict to tech wash clothes and cook food. As i m very eager to go to the US, he thinks i will b in problem there. I didn't get u about ur visa. Since ur working there u must b in a possession of a valid visa. It's good u finally stop searching for a house there. U must have heard abt the SRK boulevard, may b u can shift there when it'll come up over the years. CHOW tcr

Man, U bet... this apartment hunting sux.. I had to do it for almost a month in NYC... Being expensive U wanna do it without a broker (thankfully there's craigslist.org) & the hotel was really depressing... a strange smell coming from their lobby always - sorry company will not pay more than $150 a night. But One thing I learnt - stop converting currencies. U won't buy what U really want to.. I do that only when I wire money into my Indian A/c... :-) Happy House Hunting BTW

Its kind hilarious at what the visa guy as well as the broker is doing to you,but given the fact that u r not in delhi n cant abuse him because you dont have the backup.The part about conversion was very true because wen i went to london for about 20 days everything i picked up i calculated it in INR to see whether it was worth as much as it was in india.I t is hard to adjust but my best wishes for you to settle down quickly and keep us occupied.Chao

hey sushmita it seems that u are very very frustrated with all the stuff u are goin through dis is awful!and laundry part is really true i remember was in goa and was stayin in a resort and i gave some clothes for laundry and when i saw d bill for d laundry at the time of checkin out my eyes just popped open!! :)
