1. Every atom of industrial growth probably points to another atom of environmental destruction.
2. Organic growth (adding plant capacity or adding more plants) is the long hard road trodden by the tough but perhaps it adds to more environmental destruction.
3. Inorganic growth (mergers or acquisitions) is the shorter road to ego-soothing size enhancements but perhaps it adds to less environmental destruction.
4. Have we crossed the vague line between 'self-preservation' and 'self-destruction'?
