I guess interpretation of the same section could suffice. The Section penalises the unnatural sex and could be interpreted in such a way to make a room for gay (people with alternative lifestyle, more politically correct word) sex.
Anyways, what matters more is the signal of change in the attitude, and the changing norms of the society.
It, atleast, means that we are ready to accept the changes and also will try to interfere lesser in the personal matters of other.
Maybe its the time for the Western courts to follow the precedents set by the Indian courts.

re: Hooray for Gays! I feel so proud that you see me as embracing your country and I'm very grateful I'm allowed to. It's been such a gift to get to know another world and you can feel proud as an Indian for it because I definitely think the openness and generosity of this country plays a part in my feeling comfortable here. I hope you get to experience the same kind of thing in the US.

re: Hooray for Gays! A lot of us in India have this incredible 'white' complex as most of us fall head over heels to make it to the western world in order to escape the imperfections of our homelands. And all we get in return is a handful of foreigners making trips here to sample the 'exotic east' and the 'Land of Yoga and Sadhus'. Your attitude truly breaks down a lot of cultural barriers and for some reason makes me feel proud as an Indian (as if your openness were my own personal achievement).
I personally am contemplating a move to USA for higher studies and hope that I would be able to embrace my adoptive nation as completely as you are doing right now.

Here's to hoping that you become a full-blooded 'Desi' and I become a red-blooded 'Yankee' successfully.
God bless...
