I can't believe we're going round the world!

Despite the scary travel agent lady's dire predictions that we would definitely have to postpone our trip, it now looks like it might actually happen.
The journey of a lifetime. Three months. Nine countries. A round the world ticket for two. And hey, we'll even have our jobs waiting for us when we get back.
So here's the itinerary: Bombay-Singapore-Melbourne-Auckland-Christchurch-Sydney-Vancouver-Los Angeles-Miami-Costa Rica-Peru-Sao Palo-South Africa-Mumbai....I can't wait to see the sun set over Machu Pichu, drink all-head Brazilian beer (although in India I'm constantly giving waiters lessons on how to pour beer so there's minimal head), spot the big five at Kruger National Park and drive through New Zealand's wine country. Oh. My. God.
We're going to travel light (just one haversack each) though, as the husband loves to point out, this won't be a backpacker style holiday ie we will be spending our hard-earned money. But, as Wall Street Journal columnist Jared Sandberg once pointed out, we love to say that if only we didn't have kids and home loans, we would take off. Yet Sandberg said most couples aren't adventurous even if they don't have these resposibilities.
Samar and me don't have kids and don't own a house so that column hit the spot. That's really when we started thinking about taking some time out.
I don't know why we decided to do this blog. Perhaps because it will encourage you to take the plunge one day? Until then, you can have vicarious fun reading about our adventures (and misadventures).
