And they're showing it live on the telly here too--it's near midnight but my host Roger (who has, incidentally, played against Anil Kumble when the latter represented RV College of Engineering in Bangalore) is up watching the game even though he doesn't know who Preity Zinta is. And Shane Warne believes this league is no gimmick or one-hit wonder although he's struggling to learn the desi names. Here's what the man said in today's Herald Sun:

Please accept bon voyage greetings for your mini globetrotting.  I am happy too see that Indians are now second to none when it comes to embarking on world tours. Enjoy your sojourn in Australia.

 

I am a regular reader of Asian Age, Indian Express, Hindu, Mint's Lounge and HT. I love collecting newspapers, especially those with big political and important headlines and have two hard bound volumes. May I request you to bring back some newspapers likes The Age/ Sydney Morning Herald/ Star of Johennesburg, while you are in S.Africa.  I will be happy to bear the cost of the paper. I am also contemplating on how to collect the future immortal headlines of last breath of living legend Nelson Mandela. I plan to contact the S.A. consulate in this connection. I implore you to kindly help me fulfill this desire. I have no friends or relatives in foreign nations (except in Gulf). I cannot afford to buy UK papers above Rs300/- at Apollo Bunder. I migrated to Bombay in 1998 and married in 2004 (no kids). I would be reading about your travels and I wish you the best of luck. My suggestion is for you to add South America and one more African nation in your itinerary.
